The slot booking process in Cargoclix Slot for all OTTO deliveries will be gradually adjusted for all relevant companies starting in July 2024.
We will start in Ohrdruf site with a set of pilot forwarders who have been informed separately. Over time, all relevant companies and therefore all forwarders will be converted to the new process.
The process is currently as follows:
In the future, the process will be as described below:
In terms of content, this adjustment means that in future slot bookings will require
which items should be delivered with which quantity from which order. You can obtain this information via the delivery note, which must be included with every delivery, or from your client (the OTTO supplier).
In addition, the items are all provided with a delivery period so that deliveries can be scheduled correctly. This consists of an earliest and latest delivery date. A slot booking will only be possible during this period.
In order to realize this, the so-called workflowmanager (WFM) is placed ahead of the known process in the well-known slot system. The WFM is another tool from Cargoclix that is directly connected to the slot system.
In the WFM, OTTO provides all relevant objects to carry out the process as described. These are individual purchase orders, electronic delivery notes or already formed transports from our upstream tool Infor Nexus.
In the WFM, the task of the forwarder is to create a WFM transport, which can contain one or more of the objects mentioned. This can then be linked/connected directly to a booking slot in the slot system.
Ultimately, this process serves to provide everyone involved with more transparency about what is delivered where, in what quantity, when and for which order.
